Explore the Trilogy of LotR

The Lord of the Rings trilogy was appreciated by many due to its special effects, pacing, and action. Capitalizing on this success, New Line Cinema is creating a live action adaptation of Bilbo Baggin’s explorations and adventures with ‘The Hobbit’.

Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro has signed up to be at the helm of the project, with the Lord of the Rings trilogy director Peter Jackson now serving as executive producer and co-writer. The movie has been split into two parts (similar to what was done with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows) which will be shown in 2011 and 2012, which chronicles the events in Bilbo Baggin’s life up to the very beginning of the first Lord of the Rings movie. Guillermo del Toro signed on for the project in 2008. The film is being shot in New Zealand with the casting still a guarded secret.
