If you’re tempted to sink in to his disarming looks and personality, let me tell you something that you should know. Our dashing dreamboat actually did something to boats in the movie. During the scenes where the fellowship [the nine members, that is] were in boats, Orlando Bloom sunk his boat two times by mistake, once with John Rhys-Davies and once with his size double.

Elrond and Galadriel are only two of the elven ring bearers in the movie although it was not directly mentioned in any scene in LOTR. It is in Galadriel’s middle finger, as seen as she bids goodbye to the fellowship. On the other hand, Gandalf holds the third ring. He starred in all three cuts of the movie.

There are a lot of unknown quirks brought about by several cast members. Look who had his own style of flying back and fro to the set. Because of fear, for the scenes that were shot in the misty mountains, the cast had to be flown to some sites, Sean Bean is afraid of flying and so walked for two hours to get to the top of the mountain for shooting. Whew, now that’s way tiring.

Dark Lord Sauron, who was disembodied when the One Ring was cut off from his hand, is the personification of evil in the Lord of the Rings movies. This guy didn’t have a drop of good in him, not one bit. Staying in his tower, the Barad-dur, he employs other creatures of darkness to do his dirty work for him, and find the one thing that could possibly restore his former form and power. Greed keeps him alive. Not satisfied with being able to command numerous creatures and still have a vast amount of power, he still wants more. Good thing that the good side always wins, because a world with Sauron as one of its superpowers might be the reincarnation of hell on earth. Yikes.

Don’t get me wrong. The film was good but for me it was sort of boring because I didn’t quite understand some plots. But when I read the book, I found it engrossing and thus understood the film when I had the chance to watch it again.

As with other highly successful movies like X-Men, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Superman, one can assume that the producers of the trilogy would like to extend their earnings by making sequels or prequels. Unfortunately, no other film was made with regard to the LotR trilogy under the production company New Line Cinema as of the moment. Maybe after a few years, they might produce these prequels but the nect problem would be that the LotR hype would have died down by then.
