Aside from the stunning effects that left everyone both awe-struck and love-struck, there are many things that can be learned after watching the movie.

One strong evidence is that it pulled people together to watch it despite the fact that it originated from a book, and folks would have the mindset that “you will fail to understand it unless you will start reading it”.

It stirs some sort of curiosity how the movie had reached even those who are not really LOTR fans, but what really matters is that the message came across them – friendship, courage, determination, love, and the like.

    Row, Row, Row the Boat

Read under one of LOTR fansites again, one writer observed something in relation to the movie-book tie-up.

“In the book, as the fellowship is rowing away from Lothlorien, Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel ride a swan shaped ship out to the middle of the river to wish them well on their journey and to share one last meal with them. If you watch the scene carefully, I believe it’s on the right hand side of the screen, there really is a swan shaped ship docked by the shore.”

Blatantly, viewers, especially the hardcore fans have a really keen eye with details regarding their favorite movie.

The cast of the movie are perfectly normal, although they all look really perfect all throughout the movie [come on, let's just admit it]. There are a lot of unknown quirks brought about by several cast members. Look who had his own style of flying back and fro to the set. Because of fear, for the scenes that were shot in the misty mountains, the cast had to be flown to some sites, Sean Bean is afraid of flying and so walked for two hours to get to the top of the mountain for shooting. Whew, now that’s way tiring.

Personally, I wasn’t into the hype set by the Lord of the Ring trilogies. I was more into the Harry Potter series because the characters were younger and the plot was easier to understand. When I tried watching the film for the first time, I just slept around halfway of the first film.

Don’t get me wrong. The film was good but for me it was sort of boring because I didn’t quite understand some plots. But when I read the book, I found it engrossing and thus understood the film when I had the chance to watch it again.

Since the Book can contain a much larger time frame than a film, certain parts of the book were changed in order to fit it all in the three films.

Some changes were made to the characters of Aragorn and Frodo. Changes were also made to certain events like the participation of elves in the Battle. There were also some parts of the Book that were deleted like the chapter of the Scouring of the Shire and some were added.

The film only followed the basic plot of the book while diverging from the characterization of the main characters.

The films were set in the world of Middle Earth wherein the story revolves around the adventures of a young hobbit named Frodo Baggins played by Elijah Wood. The story is basically into the destruction of the One Ring and will lead to the destruction of the Dark Lord Sauron. But conflict arises and Frodo’s called the Fellowship is broken and Frodo is left with some companions to continue the quest. Other characters like Gandalf and Aragorn unite with the people and battle the wizard Saruman until his defeat. Ultimately, the Ring is destroyed and the Evil forces are defeated.

Peter Jackson will be settling for producing credits on the upcoming two “Hobbit” movies and Guillermo Del Toro will be directing said movies, have apparently been on a long, nearly year-long, search for writers to adapt the expansive Tolkien book to the big screen. As luck would have it, they happen to be the two known pretty popular, and good, writers. After much searching, the duo have decided that no one else is better suited to take on the hobbits than, well, them.

Del Toro will direct both movie back-to-back in New Zealand, where word is he’s already bought a ranch and livestock. Okay! It’s not almost about the livestock but greatly because of the ranch. Anyways, rumor has it that a lot of familiar faces from “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, which technically chronicles events that takes place AFTER the events in “The Hobbit”, may make appearances in the two new movies.

It was the first movie adaptation of the said novel. It was a box office success earning over $870 million worlwide. It was shown to public on December 19, 2001 and it was highly acclaimed by critics and fans to be suffiently faithful to the original story. I’m not really sure if this is true because i haven’t read the book yet. But the movie really did show how the story line goes. Somehow, made me feel like I wanna be on that Era where monsters, and creatures, and humans lives together.

The actual story begins when Frodo (played by Elijah Wood) inherited the ring from his uncle. Then the Wizard Gandalf soon learns that it is the One Ring that Sauron (The Dark Lord) seeks to retake to gain power. Frodo was given the task to destroy The Ring. He needs to go Mount Doom in the land of Mordor, the only place where The Ring can be destroyed. He was accompanied by his friends, Sam, Merry, and Poppin. And of course, along the long journey, they will encounter a lot of challenges (as all movies or story would have) making it harder to fulfill their task.

Still, no movie is perfect, and moviemakers cannot just adapt the novel into a movie with no changes on the characters or to whatever part of the story. But what’s the big deal, not everyone is reading books. So just see the movie and enjoy it.

Those directors of movies with Part 1 or Part 2 and so on do have brilliant ideas of attracting viewers. Just like the director of The Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson who managed to direct the Trilogy. Since he was successful in coming up with the first movie of LOTR, he knows that his future plan of coming up with 2 more series would be also a hit. And he was right! He was able to make an impact in the Hollywood industry. Peter Jackson deserves great honor for making The Lord of the Rings Trilogy possible and successful.

What’s with LOTR that people like to watch the trilogy all over again? I know some may say, “because it’s the story”, “Legolas is handsome in that movie!”, “I like those series movies”. I am sure there are different reasons behind it. But I think those people who were entertained with the first LOTR movie would say that if the first movie is great, how much more the succeeding. This was also my perspective. So I stay tuned with the news, issues, and rumors about LOTR. I waited for the succeeding films. I guess my waiting is worth it! I enjoyed the LOTR trilogy!
