Elven Business
The elves in all LOTR movies had obviously captured the hearts of everyone. We have to note, of course, that they are somewhat different from each other, including their physical and psychological aspects.
Based on Oh Joy! Movie Trivias, in the movie, the distinction in appearance of the various elven races is prominent. The wood-elves (or Sylvan elves) have blond hair (Legolas, Galadriel, etc.) whereas the High Elves (or Sindar) have black hair (Elrond).
So the next time you had the knack to watch it again [even if it is the nth time, I know.], try to observe their similarities and differences.

STUNTmen
Filed under InformationMar 10With the actors seemingly internalizing their characters for the sake of utmost professionalism and to add a personal touch to the movie, some had decided to do more than what they are required to do.
Take Viggo Mortenson for example, who completely forgot that his true identity and mistaken himself for Aragorn for like hours.
Another remarkable actor in the movie, Orlando Bloom, who played Legolas Greenleaf, broke a rib while shooting a scene on horseback. Luckily, he was able to return and continue filming the movie after seeing a doctor (Oh Joy! Movie Trivia).
Talking about taking it all internally.

Will ‘The Hobbit’ live up to expectations?
The Lord of the Rings trilogy was appreciated by many due to its special effects, pacing, and action. Capitalizing on this success, New Line Cinema is creating a live action adaptation of Bilbo Baggin’s explorations and adventures with ‘The Hobbit’.Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro has signed up to be at the helm of the project, with the Lord of the Rings trilogy director Peter Jackson now serving as executive producer and co-writer. The movie has been split into two parts (similar to what was done with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows) which will be shown in 2011 and 2012, which chronicles the events in Bilbo Baggin’s life up to the very beginning of the first Lord of the Rings movie. Guillermo del Toro signed on for the project in 2008. The film is being shot in New Zealand with the casting still a guarded secret.

Lord Of The Rings Trailer – Awesome video clips here
This is the style that was adopted by the film’s financial backers that had one movie being made with some of the cast and crew shooting scenes for the other two installments. The rest of the time was spent doing all the digital enhancements that made the film possible as well as gave ample time to get shots reviewed and re-shot if necessary. Tolkien’s version in the novel was as much as possible followed with some additions to make the scenes better with his blessing of course. He was taken as a consultant throughout the filming of the whole series so as to maintain the faithfulness of the film to the author’s vision which to his delight was adhered to.
From the elaborate sets to the still existing Hobbit Village in New Zealand, the utter natural beauty and diversity of the land gave background to one memorable film series indeed. Though many have been put off by the fact that the three part will remain a three part film, many were wowed by the mastery of the producers and other staff to deliver a seemingly impossible realm, the realm of magic and fantasy as it was competing for the same market as the Harry potter series for the same audience body.Comments Off -

One of the most elaborate and computer generated films of recent history, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy has become a legend due to elaborate sets and seemingly impossible scenery. Almost entirely shot in New Zealand (where the original sets still remain and can be viewed on tours). The three films were all filmed simultaneously allowing less time ans effort from the production crew and the actors, some of whom had to live in the country till filming ended. The huge number of special effects required so massive an amount of equipment that a whole building had to be constructed to house them all (including the artists of course).
Many of the epic battle scenes had extras from all over New Zealand and its army which gladly lent a couple of their reserve fighting men. The military guys were too engrossed with the film that they destroyed some of their wooden swords and spears forgetting it was only a shoot. The scenes being shot simultaneously, one crew can be shooting a scene for the last installment and the one next door on the first and so on. Most of the actors who handled ‘the Ring’ thought they had the one and only ring on set. All these wrapped into one of the mos successful films of all time ranking second on the charts to top $100,000,000 in revenues losing by a fraction from TitanicTagged as: EarningsComments Off -

Image Source: cyber-cinema.comLegolas is an elf from the Woodland Realm, a character in the successful Tolkien’s, Lord of the Rings. He is one of the nine members of the Fellowship of the Ring, which was created to conquer the One Ring. Legolas is the son of the king of Woodland Realm of Northern Mirkwood, Thranduil. Thranduil is the ‘Elvenking’ in The Hobbit. While Thandruil ruled the Silvan Elves, lived amongst them and inculcated their customs, Legolas was not one of the Wood elves. Father and son really are Sindar or Grey Elves. Their language was Sindarin. First introduced in the Lord of the Rings at the Council of Rivendell as the messenger for his father regarding Gollum’s escape from their guard. Legolas is the unstoppable fighter with various stunt performances while engaged in battle.

Image Source: gold4gaming.comA group of actors from New Zealand in the Lord of the Rings franchise finally claims their money after the production company settled out of court with them. The 15 actors who filed a lawsuit against New Line Cinema said they were paid royalty statements after appearing in all the movies’ installments. But were surprised to to have found that there was zero revenue from merchandise sales well in fact, toys and other LOTR paraphernalias were selling like hot cakes all over the world. So they hired a lawyer and filed the suit against the film producers in Los Angeles Superior Court for the money the producers owe them. The actors said they initially agreed on a 5% royalty fee of the net revenue from merchandise sales. The lawyer said that up to this date estimate of the LOTR merchandise totalled about $100M US.
